Help Find a Match for Jake While attending Milwaukee Irish Fest this Saturday, please consider stopping by the cultural pavilion on the south end of the festival grounds to learn about how you could save the life of six-year-old Jake Larkin, of Milwaukee. Milwaukee Irish Fest is partnering with BloodCenter of Wisconsin in an effort to help Jake find a match for a life-saving marrow transplant.
In addition, the Blood Center will be conducting a blood drive at the Grand Avenue Mall from 11am to 4pm on Friday, August 17th. For more information, you can link to www.bcw.edu/jake
Jake has severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare condition that prevents his bone marrow from producing enough blood cells. His only hope for a cure is a marrow transplant. Given the Larkin family's Irish ancestry, the hope is that a marrow match can be found among Milwaukee's Irish-American community.

Gaelic Storm, promoting their new CD Chicken Boxer, will be joining five costumed chickens to greet guests at the mid gate opening at 4 pm on Friday, August 17. Irish Fest volunteers will be on hand selling special Gaelic Storm/Irish Fest pennants for $2. Proceeds of the pennant sales will go to the Chuck Ward Community Fund, a designated fund at the Irish Fest Foundation named in honor of former Irish Fest President and Entertainment Coordinator Chuck Ward.
