Martha Guiney is a flute and whistle player from County Down, in the north of Ireland. Under the direction of Sligo born flute prodigy Seamus Transey, Martha has been immersed in the Irish Traditional Music scene frmo an early age, receiving her first All-Ireland medal as a child at the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann and also winning first place at the Francis McPeake World Championships for Irish music, held in Belfast. As a soloist, Martha has performed on BBC Radio Ulster's Folk Club and was recently selected to play as a soloist on a research CD containing music and song from the Oriel region. Martha graduated with a B.A. degree in Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology and she is currently completing an M.A. in Irish Traditional Music Performance at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick. Martha is looking forward to performing and teaching this year at Irish Fest!
Aisling Lyons is an 8 times All-Ireland Champion harpist & concertina player from County Clare, Ireland. Aisling grew up in a musical home and went on to study music at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance in Limerick. She is a sought after teacher in Ireland and abroad. Aisling has traveled to Australia, Norway, the U.K, The United States, Canada & France, giving various harp workshops & performances. In 2015, she released her debut EP. Though her style is deeply rooted in Traditional Irish Music, Aisling's playing has been influenced by the folk, contemporary & world music sounds of her surroundings in Limerick.
