Sara Goek is a Mellon/ACLS Public Fellow at the Association of College & Research Libraries. She holds a PhD in History / Digital Arts & Humanities and an MA in Historical Research from University College Cork (UCC), and a BA in History and Irish Studies from Boston College. Her research focuses on oral histories of traditional musicians who migrated from Ireland to Britain and America in the post-Second World War era. This presentation will cover a few basics of collecting oral history interviews, with a particular focus on interviewing family and community members. Attendees will learn about every step in the process, from planning to archiving, and have opportunities to ask questions along the way.
