
Ron Bowen is a recognized authority on the Great Highland Bagpipe worldwide. He has over a half century of piping experience including with top competition bands in Canada. He has authored three different bagpipe-focused books: The Hal Leonard Bagpipe Method, The Hal Leonard Bagpipe Tune Book (which includes fifty original compositions written by Ron Bowen), and Care and Maintenance of the Great Highland Bagpipe.
He is a bagpipe instructor and has taught hundreds of students worldwide. He is currently the Director of Music for Celtic Nations Pipes and Drum Band, Wisconsin’s largest pipe band with more than thirty performing pipers.
He is also the founder and curator of The Bagpipe Place and The Bagpipe Museum, two premier online resources for pipers everywhere. The Bagpipe Museum is the largest and most comprehensive archive of ancient Highland Bagpipes in the world. Ron Bowen has a unique story to tell and is able to combine warmth and charm with his extensive background and experience to create an engaging and information session.
