The University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) will open the 2027 season against the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on August 28, 2027, at the Aviva Stadium.
To celebrate the Wisconsin Badgers going over to play in Ireland, Irish Fest has teamed up with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic for a pep rally and activation area at the festival this year!

Pittsburgh vs. Wisconsin
The University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) will open the 2027 season against the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on August 28, 2027, at the Aviva Stadium.
Pitt last played a football game outside the U.S. on December 2, 1989. The Panthers defeated Rutgers, 46-29, in the Emerald Isle Classic at Lansdowne Road Stadium in Dublin. Wisconsin's only other game in a foreign country came in 1993 in a 41-20 win over Michigan State in the Coca-Cola Bowl in Tokyo, Japan.
The Panthers will be the designated home team for the 2027 matchup in Ireland. Pitt is 3-0 all-time against Wisconsin, with the most recent meeting taking place during the 1967 season.
