Niall McCabe is a folk singer, songwriter and instrumentalist from Clare Island off the coast of Mayo. With a critically acclaimed debut solo album on heavy rotation on Irish radio, McCabe’s natural, distinct voice is earning a growing and loyal fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic. His evocative folk music is rooted in story and place, returning always to the melodic and lyrical texture of the remote island where he grew up. His distinctive vocal and uniquely developed guitar picking style herald an exciting, vibrant talent.
Making his Opry, Nashville debut in March, McCabe has been recognised by his audience, peers and contemporaries with appearances alongside Sharon Shannon, Mary Black, Mike McGoldrick Nollaig Casey and his outstanding performances Legendary Transatlantic Sessions Band feat Jerry Douglas, Aly Bain, Julie Fowlis, Phil Cunningham, and Loudon Wainwright III to name just a few.
Niall has performed at the prestigious Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow and Main stage at Cambridge Folk Festival to name a few and is looking forward to adding Milwaukee Irish Fest to his list of iconic festivals and can’t wait to return after his warm welcome at his CELTICMKE Concert back last November.
