Aoibhe Kettle and Caitlin Donnelly: University of Limerick PartnershipAoibhe Kettle and Caitlin Donnelly are two accomplished traditional musicians whose shared passion for Irish music brings together rich traditions from both Ireland and the UK. Aoibhe Kettle is a harper and fiddle player from Wolfhill, County Laois, Ireland, and is currently in her third year of undergraduate study at the Irish World Academy, University of Limerick. A multiple All-Ireland champion, she was awarded 1st prize in Senior Harp Slow Airs (2024) at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Aoibhe’s musical passion lies in harp composition, drawing inspiration from early traditional composers. Her original work, The Famine Suite, will feature on her upcoming EP, to be released later this year. She has performed at notable venues, including Farmleigh House in Dublin and Barryscourt Castle in Cork, and regularly collaborates with her siblings, Naosie (fiddle) and Nell Kettle (harp). Caitlin Donnelly is a talented flute and whistle player from Stockport, Greater Manchester, deeply rooted in the region’s vibrant Irish traditional music scene. Raised in a musical family with strong ties to the Irish diaspora, Caitlin began playing the whistle at age 7. She has since become an accomplished performer, competing in music competitions and playing at festivals across the UK and Ireland. Her style reflects the depth and passion of a tradition passed down through generations, and she continues to grow her reputation within the traditional music community.
