Malcolm McDowell Woods is a writer, editor, and university lecturer. He is the author of the novel What the Tide Leaves Behind, A Novel of Donegal; a short story collection, Ice Fishing in Donegal; and co-author of Irish Wit and Wisdom. He was the founding editor of the late Irish American Post magazine. He has received recognition and honors for editorial writing, magazine editing, publication design, email marketing, website content, photography, and fiction writing. He has been a featured author at Milwaukee Irish Fest, and his novel was the 2025 selection of Wauwatosa’s All-City Reads community reading program. He is a past recipient of the Milwaukee County Arts Fellowship Individual Arts Grant for Fiction Writing. Scottish by birth and Irish by ancestry, he currently lives in Wisconsin with his partner and their dogs.
